Flying with the Frecce Tricolori

In Jan. 2006 I went to Rivolto airbase to visit the Frecce Tricolori and to report about the Winter Season and the training activities performed by the pilots of the display team. Tarantino (who was “Pony 0”, the Commander of the team) an acrobatic 2 ships training mission. During the flight I had the possibility to pilot the MB.339, performing formation looping, roll over, etc. and then I was showed by Tarantino some famous maneuvers, like the Lomcovak and the Tail Slide. During the orientation mission, flying with Maj. Cavelli in the other aircraft was the photographer of the Frecce who took the following interesting pictures of my experience with the Italian display team. Nel gennaio 2006, sono stato alla base aerea di Rivolto per una visita alle Frecce Tricolori e scrivere un articolo sulla stagione invernale e le attività di addestramento fatte dai piloti della pattuglia acrobatica. Qui c’è l’articolo scritto per la Rivista Aeronautica. Durante la visita, ho avuto la possibilità to volare con il Col, Tarantino (che era “Pony 0”, il Comandante della Pattuglia) per una missione di addestramento a due velivoli. Durante il volo, ho avuto la possibilità di pilotare l’MB 339, eseguendo looping, roll over, ecc., and poi mi sono state mostrate da Tarantino alcune famose manovre, come il Lomçovak e la Tail Slide. Durante la missione di orientamento, volando con il Magg. Cavelli sull’altro velivolo, ho fatto il fotografo delle Frecce, scattando le seguenti immagini della mia esperienza con la Pattuglia Acrobatica Italiana.
